Cortland Gateway Park

I was a walk in to Cortland Gateway , upon arrival, the staff was friendly they let me know that they have some upcoming available units. This was the first time ever in life. I applied and held her unit before seeing it after getting approved and seeing the unit I love it it was a good choice,Ms Danielle is awesome, she is very patient a hard worker, and she knows how to do her job. I gave all the thanks to her and glory to the Lord. . we are now new residents, moving in soon.

The two things that make this place a one star place to live is the front office and the people that live here. When I moved here 2 years ago with Justine and team in the front office. That was the biggest selling point for Courtland the front office staff was great and kind and happy to help. Now they are non of that, dont expect to get them on the phone, or stay until closing time, fill a services request if you asked them to, but at the end of the day just not giving that happy and how can I help attitude one would expect paying almost $3k in rent. On top of that the people that live here are even worse. I never lived with so many people in the community that lack common respect for their neighbors. Loud at night, kids break and vandalizing things, people throw trash where ever they please and much more. Lastly I will say the maintenance team is great and always get the job done and fast. This place need to do better at hiring front office workers and vetting the people that move in here, because having neighbors that have 10 adults living in a 2 bedroom apartment is a good look, along with the couple evictions a month.

i had a great experience when i can in with someone named Maelynn? I apologize i don't fully remember her name. She was so sweet and helpful and because of her i wanted to move here. When i came in to inquire about why one of my people didnt get sent and application i was "helped" by Danielle. It upsets me reading these reviews and she was so nice to other but was horrible to us. She said that it was our fault that we didn't recieve one of the applications because he didn't check. It was all our fault and not there fault at all. I came back hoping to try and apply again but Danielle was so unhelpful, unwelcoming and didn't care to help us and it was obvious the moment we walked into the door. TERRIBLE customer service from someone who puts managers behind her name

Cons: Only one big burner in the stove worked properly. The 2nd big burner barely heats up even on the highest setting. You can't even cook eggs or heat up a tortilla. Maintenance says "that's just the way it is". Dryer wasn't plugged in at first which made the entire apartment hot and the walls of the laundry room wet, where the breaker box was (huge fire hazard) We've called maintenance more times in the 4 months we've been here than in the 4 years we lived at our last apartment. The large bath tub is nice but the hot water runs out halfway into filling it. So what's the point? The dishwasher doesn't dry. I had to pull out the shelves and let it air dry The windows are cloudy from the outside so there's nothing you can do about it. The pool was constantly being closed due to kids/adults being stupid and throwing rocks into it/being loud and ratchet. I was able to get in once all summer. So much for "resort style living" When it snows they don't plow the parking lot or salt the sidewalks. If it snows on the weekend you better pray gravity is in your favor because it'll be Monday before a minimal amount of salt is applied. Incredibly rude neighbors. My downstairs neighbor threatened me over DIRT in front of his balcony(not on it, nowhere near it actually) from some plants that had fallen over from my balcony, meanwhile he smokes non stop (it's a smoke free community) and throws cig butts in the same spot like the world is his personal ashtray. There was also garbage down there from way before we even moved, and that didn't seem to bother him. Oh and the leasing office won't do anything about the smoking so if being in a truly smoke free community is something you're seeking, this is NOT the place for you. People take their dogs off leash constantly and don't care if you tell them to put them on a leash. I had a neighbors dog growling at mine and the manchild who was it's owner was just calling it over, even though it wasn't listening. I spoke to someone at the dog park (which is always empty) and they told me their dog got attacked by an off leash dog in building 9 and had to go to the vet. People also don't clean up after their dogs when there are bags provided. My upstairs neighbor lets their child stomp and run around at all hours of the day, making the walls shake and conversation impossible. The gates have NEVER been fixed, not even for a day in the 4 months we've been here. There's shattered glass, broken windows, and previous reviews even mention bullets flying through windows on occasion. We left our last place because we felt unsafe and it is honestly a miracle nothing has happened to us here. I'm not sure what trash service we paid for because the dumpsters are always full. It seems like there's quite a large gang influence in this area now and several shady operations being run from the garages in this apartment complex. While we were moving out we had a few things in the hallway and some of it was stolen. You can't trust your neighbors here at all. Pros: The lake is nice to walk around The gym was never packed or dirty I liked the double sinks in the bathroom The high ceilings were nice The huge closet was amazing, it fit our entire dresser The kitchen had lots of space and storage The built in desk area came in handy because I work from home For over $2k a month for a 1bed 1bath, things should have been better. The cons in my review are huge cons because we value safety over everything and ultimately it was unsafe. I know they'll say they had security etc but realistically I only saw them once and they were chatting and hanging out with people who live here, not actually doing their job. It was well worth the debt to break the lease. I could not imagine doing another 11 months here. You've been warned, good luck if you don't listen.

I recently had the pleasure of taking an apartment tour with Justine, one of the leasing agents at the property. From the moment I met her, she was warm and welcoming. Justine is one of the most knowledgeable and professional leasing agents I have ever encountered. She was able to answer every question I had about the property, the community, and the amenities. Justine provided an incredible guided tour, taking the time to show me every detail of the apartment, from the appliances to the closet space. She also highlighted the on-site amenities. What I appreciated the most about Justine was her kindness and patience. She never made me feel rushed, taking the time to ensure that all my questions were answered. Her friendly personality and positive attitude made the entire experience enjoyable. Overall, I had an incredible experience working with Justine. I felt that she truly cared about finding the perfect home for me and went out of her way to make sure I had all the information I needed. I highly recommend this property and Justine as a leasing agent. Thanks for a great tour!
